The matrix of this large cabinet specimen is abundantly covered with a crust of brown beudantite crystals. These crystals are too small to study, even with a loupe. The millions of crystal faces reflecting the light lend a sparkly appearance to this specimen. Beudantite was named for the French mineralogist Francois Beudant.
