A thumb-sized rock has been coated with a thin layer of turquoise colored chalcophyllite. Much of the mineral is thin, opaque, and dull in appearance. However, there are several areas where the crystals are large enough to be examined (a loupe is required for a detailed examination), and these crystals are transparent, a deep turquoise blue color, and have a vitreous luster. The crystals have a platy form, and are too small for me to discern their shape. There is a cluster that shows a radial pattern.
