Hypersthene is a common name for the enstatite-ferrosilite series. Embedded throughout this specimen are tiny crystals, that, due to the dark green color, lead me to believe that this is an example of the iron magnesium silicate, ferrosilite. Some of these crystals show good orthorhombic form, particularly in the numerous small vugs in the matrix of this specimen. There is no damage to this specimen.
