This small thumbnail specimen consists of a cluster of the finest Rhodochrosite crystals that I have ever seen! There are at least 10 discernable crystals present on this piece, but only 3 of these exceed 0.2" (5 mm) in any dimension. These three range in size from 0.5 x 0.4 x 0.4" (1.3 x 1.0 x 1.0 cm) to 0.3 x 0.2 x 0.1" (8 x 5 x 3 mm). They are in exceptional condition, as only two areas of slight damage are noticeable. Their trigonal rhombohedral form is magnificent- I have never seen sharper edges or smoother sides on such crystals of any carbonate mineral.
