Several Caledonite prisms rest in a hollow in the host rock of this thumbnail piece. These crystals do not exceed 0.3" (8 mm) in length and are generally in very good condition, being protected in their hollow. All appear to have very good orthorhombic form, though only one or two crystals are actually terminated. They have the standard deep blue color with a hint of green and bright, vitreous luster of their specie, and are transparent and quite clear, though slightly internally fractured. The black-and-white host rock is stained blue, and the piece is hot-glued into a plastic thumbnail box.
