At least 8 Fluorrichterite crystals are partly embedded in the sparse calcite host of this piece. The largest of these crystals has dimensions of 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.8" (6.4 x 5.1 x 1.9 cm) and is rather heavily damaged, though this damage appears to be rather old. Most of the other crystals show similar light damage, but a few small ones are more severely so. All have a good monoclinic prismatic form, with well-defined edges and pitted but clean faces. Their color a dark brown-black with a subtle green tinge, and their luster is pearly-to-waxy. They are also essentially opaque.
