This single Augite crystal is in excellent condition, showing almost no damage, and has excellent stubby, monoclinic prismatic form, though it is not quite complete due to growth restrictions. Its black color and nearly vitreous luster are standard for the specie. There is no host rock present, though pits in the crystal show a powdery, rusty material.
