This is a specimen of stibiconite, in a pseudomorph after stibnite. THe original stibnite has been completely altered to stibiconite, while retaining its original shape. The stibiconite is a brownish-yellow in color, although the tint varies quite a bit. There are also a number of tiny qurtz crystals, the largest of which is a perfectly shaped doubly-terminated crystal, tinted yellow making it a perfect tiny citrine crystal.

STIBICONITE specimen stb-1
$ 48.00
Dims: 1.5 x 1.3 x 1.2" (3.7 x 3.2 x 3.1 cm)
Wt: 0.7 oz. (21 g)
Mercer County(?) Utah, U.S.A.
A cluster of Stibiconite pseudomorphs makes up this small hand specimen. At least 5 of these are either damaged or broken, but several are in excellent condition. As is characteristic of this mineral, the Stibiconite pseudomorphed after stibnite, retaining the bladed form of the first mineral. All have a dirty, pale brown color and a dull luster, though the damaged crystals show a paler brown to a nearly white coloration. The cluster seems to extend off of a base of a dull yellow, dimly transparent crystal that looks a bit like calcite.
